"Having a child with attention deficit disorder (ADD), I’ve come to appreciate that ADD is more than an individual syndrome; it’s a chronic situation that affects all members of the family in different ways. As a parent, attempting to manage the challenges of ADD left me physically and emotionally exhausted. I felt like I was personally repeating every grade as I worked with my child to help her survive the daily rigors of academic life. Then my family was introduced to Ann Pieper through a friend whose child also had learning challenges. Ann’s professional knowledge and individualized support provided my family with a much needed safety net – we were able to step back and take a breath knowing that the ongoing challenges of ADD were effectively managed through a team approach. ADD will always be a part of our lives, but it does not have to take control of our family. I firmly believe that it takes a village to manage the ongoing challenges of ADHD and Ann is a vital member of that village."

"With a diagnosis of ADD and anxiety disorder, we brought our middle school-aged son to the ADHD Center of Milwaukee for help. Medication wasn't working. Therapy didn't help. School pressures on the North Shore are intense. We were struggling to put arms around our son's condition, and to know how best to help him. While I relied on medical doctors for advice on managing the condition, I turned to Ann for help with time and project management - some pragmatic steps to help make the school day more successful... hopefully.
What we received instead was an eye-opening education into the way ADD/ADHD affects students, how schools react and handle the diagnosis, and what you as a family can do to support your child - comprehensively. Ann taught us about the brain, about diet and exercise, about the school system and accommodations, and she taught or son good study habits. She showed us how early intervention and accommodations set your child up for a fair chance at success later in their academic career. Want a good ACT score in Junior year? Then you need to know how Freshman year accommodations influence that.
To any parent whose child has been given this diagnosis, please do not try to navigate this path without the help of a coach like Ann. While you are dealing with the daily homework and stresses of ADHD, Ann will be looking at the big picture and alerting you to concrete steps you can take to protect and support your child."
