During this pandemic, kids across the country are waking up and completing online schooling. However, when they are done for the day, most of them FaceTime for hours on end, playing video games and watching TV with friends. With that in mind, it is imperative that your son or daughter puts down the device and uses his/her time more productively.

As a parent with two sons, I know that it is a constant strenuous battle to get them off their devices. Therefore, I have made a list of some of the best ways to help manage your children’s screen time.

Give your Children tasks to complete during the day!

  1. Make sure to exercise
  2. Obviously, with the pandemic hanging out with friends has its restrictions. Use this time to go outside! Go for walks and bike rides with friends!
  3. Set specific chores each day! 1-2 chores. Make sure only to give a few because if you don’t, your child will most likely be obstinate and less inclined to complete them.

Set Screen time limits on your Children's Phone and iPad

To do this, all you need to do is go to:

  1. Settings- then click on screen time
  2. Then you will tap app limits
  3. Finally, you set daily time limits with precise hours and minutes that you can use your device.

Keep your child engaged!

Make sure that your child has a strict daily routine that he follows. Kids with ADHD are goal-driven and love incentives. The more you reward, the more likely they will complete tasks and not sit all day on their devices.
